Patricide

by Abandon· from Demo

I've seen how you scarred her. her screams didn't fall on deaf ears. the horror that you left her in won't fall away as do her tears. this is your legacy; it won't become my own. i'll abdicate the power of privilege and set fire to your throne. ever present but illusive, the specter of the patriarch looms in the shadows of our everyday lives, terrorizing and dehumanizing women, children, and all others who question tyrannical archetype that it embodies. men consume and are thus consumed by this facade, rendering themselves emotionally dead, unable to love others or even themselves. in this seemingly inescapable reign of hatred, there remains hope for liberation. we must reject and destroy all incarnations of patriarchy, by any means necessary. i deny you that power, and i'll let these words resound. this age is at it's end, and i pledge to cast you down. i've witnessed your vile ways, and violence is all i've seen, so i'll grip vengeance in my hands and put a knife where your heart should be. as i purge this disease from my being, i will hasten your demise. slay the father.
