So They Sayings True
by At Half Mast· from To The Embers Split 7in
My thoughts must roam back to that time,
Uninhibited.
I wouldn’t stop it if I could.
So ignorant and innocent, no worries in the world.
Childhood recollections snatch my mind and run.
Oh how sweet it is to be juvenile,
I say this from the vantage point of now.
I can count on one hand the things I wouldn’t give to relive,
I wouldn’t give to take it all back.
In thought, these dreams return to me-
Arlington floods, swimming free
Scribner Park, reuniting family
This Midwest Earth has abducted me,
But at the same time, its given me identity.
With snow on the ground and sleds in hand,
The children’s voices break the serenity of this frosty land.
Now so thankful.
Who could ever ask for more?
It’s been an almost unperceptive lifestyle
Until now.
But when the haunting realization comes to me
I understand what life is about,
And it changes everything.
Wealth, Politics, and Lust-
are truly the only things that matter.
Your daily dose of reality, served on a silver platter.
The things that mean the most, they are nonexistent-
Love, Life, Laughs and Values- Morality has been shattered.
As for me, I’ll forget about this tragedy and live life like a child.
Surely that’s the key to prosperity, IT HAS TO BE!
To the ones who’ve been there from the start,
And the loved one’s I’ve yet to meet,
Ill strive to never let you down, even if impossible.
I take the responsibility as my own,
Ill do my best to show the world.
I’ve seen both sides of life: The Fable, and The Truth.
And I know this is exactly where I want to be.
Now the decision rests in you.
Heartbreak leads to hate,
Hate leads to hardship,
And hardship to failure.
Failure.
