Blood White
by Crutch· from Amidst Despair, Hope Prevails
Bitterness fills my soul, burning contempt for my selfishness. I have no right to live and all rights to die, but still am offered a deal to good to be true. I can accept it and be set free or I can reject and suffer my own fate. To hard to breath, I'm choking. Noose tied by my hands, I'm hanging. Too blind to see there is hope. Too proud to give up my pain. Torn flesh and tears mix together. Black bathed in blood: pure white. Mercy restores the soul. Grace enkindles new life. Crimson dissolves the walls of the heart. Love that unjustly cleanses bloodwhite. My life is bloodwhite, breathing in the fumes of my rotting flesh I choke in disgust of myself. I am everything I hate and nothing I love. I'm tangled in this web I've spun. Alone and unguided I look to myself to find peace and the purpose of life. Led astray by the need to fulfill my greed, my lust and perverse desires. Never could I understand the season why nothing could fill the void in my life. Frustrated, unsatisfied, bitter and unsure. I contemplate suicide. Hope offered by a hand I can't see. Grasp it. I will be pulled free from this pit of eternal despair that I have dug for my grave. Gripping the Savior, His blood flows cleansing my black life pure white. Mercy restores the soul. Grace enkindles new life. Crimson dissolves the walls of the heart. Love that unjustly cleanses bloodwhite.
