Popular Culture
by Disnihil· from Future Cancers
Follow the tide, ignore the stench - popular culture
Of the wasted potential, the wasted flesh - disposable culture
Bowed down in worship to shit-covered gods - shit-covered culture
Enthralled by spectacle, detained in awe
It's comfortable living when you're kept half asleep
Worshiping people that you'll never meet
Weeping to gods that will never reply
Yet you keep on waiting
You wait to be rescued, wait to get saved - supplicant culture
Follow that glimmer straight to the grave.
