Equal Opportunity Insults
by Shook Ones· from The Unquotable AMH
Stage a coup from the tallest roof.
was the wind trying to win?
And did you ever think the beauty was stolen
by the fact that you had forgotten
all the backs that volunteered for you
and supported your line.
Deported while you crowned yourself king.
Green eyes knew it at 1200 feet.
You had no need for old friends.
you know glass cant exist without sand.
But your focus cant be torn.
Because i wanted to like you for all the people
in who you chased away that common place.
I wanted to like you but i cant shake this jealous snare
of how in the west we'd say,
"how the hell did you pay for that?"
