Freak The Mighty

by Unrestrained· from s/t

I never got the chance to tell you how I felt, how medication can?t raise a generation of youth who?ve been sold out by a culture that won?t tell them the truth. That there?s something more, something pure, something that can make you feel complete, because your pills could never satisfy that urge by suppressing their desire inside so deep, as profit driven agendas rise how can you sleep? Too numb to feel their cold fingers slip around you as I pry them away from me. And your fake smiles, though rotting teeth your pulsing breath, festering, leaving stains on my history has taught me more about myself (than I could ever hope to learn from anyone else) or these desks and halls (these chairs and walls) I burned your books and I learned your lesson well. (I never got the chance to tell you how I felt) how I lashed out because I never found meaning in living life for someone else (I never got the chance to tell you how I felt) how I spaced out so I could get away and dream of something else. ?Yes I know my enemies they?re the teaches who taught me to fight me, compromise, conformity, submission ignorance, hypocrisy, brutality, the elite. All of which are American dreams.? So now I write this song to you, to tell you I found something true, to tell you I made it to the other side, a place secure and safe from your lies. I pried your fingers away, 9 year ago to the day, and my heart beat out of my chest, now you?ll never harm me again, you?ll never get the chance. The American school system is teaching our youth that they are sick, and the teachers and doctors who we entrust to enrich our children?s lives let pharmaceutical companies profit by prescribing pills to fix problems that don?t really exist. You don?t own me.
